How to advocate for our libraries
Follow PlanoLibrary.org for updated information on the Library’s offerings and events.
Prepare an elevator speech quickly summarizing how the Library is elevating the city of Plano so that you’re ready to share the good news. Highlight services such as job search resources, computer classes, language learning programs, early literacy resources (including story times), free internet access, after school hours (a safe space for teens to gather and study), and programs and events that bring families together.
Email Plano City Council members to let them know that you value the Library.
Attend a Plano City Council meeting to publicly thank Council members and to encourage their continued support.
Speak at community groups (the Rotary, PTA, etc.) to share the Library’s story.
Send a Letter to the Editor at the Dallas Morning News and Plano Star Courier
